Power Query is part of Power BI Desktop application (and also an add-in for Excel 2010/2013, and comes pre-installed as “Get and Transform” in Excel 2016 and later versions). It is a very powerful tool that allows you to gather, cleanse and process data prior to loading into Power BI or Excel in a way that was never possible before. It is surprisingly easy to get into and addictive once you do – once you get the hang of it, you will see every daily data challenge you might be facing as a job for Power Query!
